Beirut Explosion: Maxar Technologies, Before-and-After Satellite Imagery

Several of Maxar’s satellites collected new imagery Aug 5, 2020 over Beirut that reveals the aftermath of the massive explosion in the port section of the city.

From Maxar: These WorldView-2 image of the port area that was collected at approximately 11:46 AM Beirut time. Today’s imagery clearly shows the power of the explosion with a large crater visible at the primary blast location, extensive destruction throughout the area and a capsized passenger ship (the ORIENT QUEEN) nearby.
