Interactive website maps James Bond’s journeys from across the previous 24 films

October 28, 2015 By GISuser

Roger Moore Recognised as The Most Traveled Bond — With the release of the new James Bond film ‘Spectre’ coming to cinemas on November 6th, long haul travel specialist Hayes and Jarvis has created an interactive website that maps Bond’s journeys from across the previous 24 films to determine the true ‘International Man of Mystery’.

Roger Moore Recognised as The Most Traveled Bond

Unsurprisingly, with seven Bond films under his belt, Sir Roger Moore is the clear winner travelling 305,516 miles (with or without including the 238,855 miles he traveled to space in ‘Moonraker’!).
Daniel Craig is however nipping at his heels for the title with the upcoming ‘Spectre’ movie with visits to London, Austria and Rome, along with his 48,742 miles already journeyed.
Pierce Brosnan comes in at 3rd with 36,451 miles to his name, meanwhile Sean Connery is at 4th with 30,815 miles and Timothy Dalton, George Lazenby and David Niven trailing behind.
James Bond has been a national treasure since 1953, when the world was introduced to the fictional secret service agent 007 by author Ian Fleming. Twelve books, nine short stories and over 20 films later, the Bond franchise is one of the most successful in the world coming second only to the ‘Harry Potter’ films and books.
The website features the various destinations each Bond actor traveled to, as well as calculating the exact distance and time to each of these and the spy-worthy activities you can embark on at each location.
For an extensive look into destinations traveled to, transport used, miles journeyed and time taken, head over to http://www.hayesandjarvis.co.uk/holidays/content/bond-around-the-world
Notes:
Some of the journey times were estimated as the crow flies owing to lack of direct flights.
Hayes and Jarvis is one of the UK’s longest established and most successful long haul specialists, offering holidays worldwide for more than 60 years.
Hayes and Jarvis operates single and multi-centre holidays as well as tailor-made trips to 55 destinations in over 30 countries, encompassing the Indian Ocean and India, Far East, Middle East, Africa, North America, Caribbean Islands and Latin America.
Hayes and Jarvis is a part of Specialist Holidays Group, owned by TUI Group.
