The Best Settings To Play Counter Strike 2: Maximised FPS

May 9, 2024 By GISuser

counter strike

You’re here for two reasons, either your PC system classifies as a potato chip OR you once blamed a loss on FPS dropping. However! We don’t judge! Of course, CS2 is the successor of CS:GO, it’s not exactly a remake or a revamp, it’s more of a major update to the same game, retouching graphics, better lighting (seems to be all the hype these days), and increased power consumption from your GPU.

This “new” version took the older veteran’s spot on the rankings, kept the reviews, and took the older versions name. And now, we’re here, writing a guide for you guys on the best settings to play CS2, to boost your FPS and still keep the game visually appealing.

Oh, and before you move on to the rest of the article, why not check out our catalogue of CS2 accounts for sale?

There’s three main setting sections in CS2 that we’ll be tweaking, these are

Graphics Settings

  • Resolution: Set your Counter Strike 2 game resolution to match your monitor’s native resolution. However, if you’re struggling with low FPS, consider lowering the resolution. A setting of 1920×1080 is ideal for most players, but dropping to 1600×900 can boost your FPS without drastically reducing visual clarity.
  • Texture Detail: Set to ‘Low’ or ‘Medium’. High-resolution textures consume more resources, and the gain in visual quality often isn’t worth the cost in FPS, especially in a tactical first-person shooter like Counter-Strike 2.
  • Shader Detail: Keep this on ‘Low’. Shaders control the appearance of surfaces in the game. Lowering this setting can significantly improve your FPS and reduce the load on your GPU.
  • Shadow Quality: This should also be set to ‘Low’. Shadows can be resource-intensive, and while they add depth to graphics, they are not crucial for gameplay performance.
  • Effect Detail: Having this on ‘High’ can affect performance when multiple effects occur simultaneously. Set it to ‘Medium’ or ‘Low’ to ensure stable FPS.
  • Multisampling Anti-Aliasing Mode: Turn this off. Anti-aliasing smoothes out jagged edges but can be quite demanding on your system. Disabling it can provide a considerable FPS boost.
  1. Game Settings
  • Vertical Sync (V-Sync): Disabled, it can cap your CS2 FPS to the refresh rate of your monitor and cause input lag.
  • Motion Blur: Turn this off. It’s mainly a cosmetic effect and can cause unnecessary blur during quick movements, which is undesirable in a twitch-sensitive game like CS2.
  1. Advanced Settings
  • Boost Player Contrast: Enable this setting. It improves the visibility of players against various backgrounds, helping you spot enemies quicker without a significant performance hit.
  • Threaded Optimization: Turn this on if your CPU supports it. This allows CS2 to take advantage of multi-core CPUs, spreading the workload more efficiently and improving performance.

If you’re still struggling with climbing the cs2 rankings even with improved fps after applying these settings, consider hiring our professional CSGO2 booster to help you out!
