Oulu, Finland: December 10, 2013 – SPECIM scans and analyses 200 km hyperspectral imaging data of drill core archives.
The Geological Survey of Sweden (SGU) has signed a contract with SPECIM for one of the world’s largest optical and mineralogical core scanning projects. Together with its South-African partner GeoSpectral Imaging (GSI), SPECIM will scan and analyze 200 km of hyperspectral imaging data of archived drill core.
The scanning will capture VNIR, SWIR and LWIR *) wavelength spectral images as well as High Resolution RGB image, all in a single scan. The project will result in a uniform national drill core data base for further macro-analysis.
