SmartNet North America Strengthens Leadership Position with Expanded Network Coverage

March 28, 2014 By Editor

The addition of new stations in Canada and the U.S. gives customers more complete coverage in more locations from the industry-leading network RTK correction service.

NORCROSS, GA, March 28, 2014 – SmartNet North America (www.smartnetna.com), the industry-leading high-precision, high-availability network RTK correction service, has bolstered its leadership position in the U.S. and Canada by adding  more than 130 new stations. The expansion gives the SmartNet service a total of more than 650 stations in 26 states and 5 provinces—more than any other service provider.

Within the last several months, new stations have come online in Nova Scotia and Ontario in Canada, with additional stations coming online in Quebec and Prince Edward Island in the coming weeks. In the United States, SmartNet has expanded into West Texas to address the oil and gas needs of its customers and has also brought in the states of Mississippi and Alabama. “We already had the largest network with the most GNSS RTK network coverage of any service provider, but our investment in expanded coverage and enhanced reliability is ongoing,” said Wendy Watson, Director, Reference Station Operations–GNSS reference networks. “We want to ensure that our customers have coverage when and where they need it, and we are unrelenting in our pursuit of excellence.”

SmartNet North America is fully open to all makes and models of GNSS equipment and is designed to provide the highest reliability and accuracy 24/7. A variety of different subscription plans are available at the state, regional and national  level for any application requiring precision GNSS corrections. The continued expansion of stations underscores the company’s commitment to customer service. “We are dedicated to helping our customers increase their productivity in GNSS positioning,” Watson said. “We will continue to work with our customers to determine their needs, and will make the investments necessary to meet those needs, both today and in the future.”
