POWER Engineers Completes Fiber, Conduit and Session Manager Product Implementations for Ann Arbor

October 16, 2014 By GISuser

HAILEY, Idaho (October 13, 2014) — POWER Engineers, Inc. (POWER) implemented Schneider Electric’s ArcFM™ Fiber Manager, Conduit Manager and Session Manager products for the City of Ann Arbor, Michigan.

In addition to configuring the ArcFM products, POWER’s consultants assisted with the city’s geodatabase design and delivered onsite training for the GIS editors and fiber personnel. This training allowed them to get familiar with the data model and editing, reporting and tracing procedures using real-world scenarios. The solution will be useful for managing field operations and inside fiber facilities. Additional knowledge transfer included processes and checklists for creating work packages passed from the fiber personnel to the GIS personnel and quality assurance and control processes.

According to Greg Bowles, Strategic Consultant at POWER Engineers, “The City of Ann Arbor has a focused strategy and plan for growing and managing their fiber network. We at POWER feel privileged to partner with and support the City as they execute their infrastructure plans.”

“POWER Engineers has been an excellent partner with the right skills and high-quality service to support our fiber project,” commented Russell Hanshue, Infrastructure Services Manager. “POWER helped us improve the use of the ArcFM Fiber and Conduit Manager tools and transferred their product-specific knowledge and experience as they worked with our team to configure the system.”
