POWER Engineers Welcomes Frank Weiss to the Geospatial/Asset Management Solutions Business Unit

POWER Engineers, Inc. (POWER), a global consulting engineering firm specializing in integrated enterprise solutions announced today that Frank Weiss, P.E. has joined the Geospatial and Asset Management Solutions Business Unit.

Frank brings a unique multifaceted perspective on the utility industry from engineering to IT to operations, both as a utility employee of 28 years and as a consultant for the last 14 years. Prior to his consulting career at GeoIT / KEMA, Frank worked for Atlantic City Electric (ACE), now part of Pepco Holdings, Inc. He has experience in many areas of the utility, serving in the roles of end user, subject matter expert, process workshop facilitator, business analyst, and project manager working with both distribution and transmission companies. Frank has worked in various capacities on a wide variety of projects including GIS, Smart Grid, Automated Metering Infrastructure (AMI), Distribution Management Systems (DMS&ADMS) / Outage Management Systems (OMS), Work Management, Transmission Business Processes Mobile Computing, and Engineering. He has a BS in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University and a MS in Computer Science from New Jersey Institute of Technology.

Chris Erpelding, POWER’s Consulting Department Manager, said, “I’m extremely pleased that Frank has joined our team. He brings a wealth of knowledge and real world experience in utility operations and strategic consulting. Frank’s background as both a consultant and an engineer is a great fit with our existing team of world-class consultants and will enhance our ability to deliver successful geospatial, asset management, design, work management, outage management and enterprise solutions.” Working out of his field office in New Jersey, Frank will provide a local management and consulting presence for POWER’s regional engagements in the Northeast U.S. as well as projects throughout North America. He will be using his breadth of skills to assist our clients with Strategic Consulting and Project Management opportunities. Frank stated, “I’m excited to join POWER Engineers and especially the Geospatial and Asset Management Solutions Business Unit, many of whom I know from my GeoIT days. I look forward to applying my consulting experience to implementation projects for which POWER Engineers is known and respected.”
