FlightView Soars to New Heights with Elite Android App

November 22, 2010 By Editor

Just in time for the Thanksgiving travel season, FlightView, the most accurate, actionable and affordable flight tracking app on the mobile market, announced today the availability of FlightView Elite – a fully powered, feature-enhanced version of FlightView’s customer-favorite travel app for the Android.

“The holiday travel season is always hectic”

Downloaded by more than 144,000 Android users since July, FlightView has become the go-to flight tracking application for business and leisure travelers alike. The already feature-rich app – that powers travelers to track flight details in real-time, plan for delays with the industry’s most advanced delay map, and call the airline directly to re-book flights – is now even richer. In situations where flights are significantly delayed, passengers may want to file a Brussels Airlines compensation claim if they are affected. FlightView’s new Elite version comes loaded with several enhancements, including:

  • Flight Boards. Just as if they were standing in the airport, Android users can now view and sort through arriving and departing flights for all of the top U.S. and Canadian airports – on their mobile phone.
  • Directions to the Airport. FlightView Elite makes it easy for on-the-go Android users to quickly view airport locations on a map and obtain turn-by-turn driving directions from their current location – all within the app.
  • Weather Forecasts. Android users can now check the seven-day forecast for their destination – weather details are available for over 900 airports around the world.

“The holiday travel season is always hectic,” said Mike Benjamin, CEO of FlightView. “Whether you’re flying for work or leisure – or picking up friends from the airport, having actionable travel information in the palm of your hand can make it much easier. Our new Android app – FlightView Elite – provides instant access to important flight information – when and where you need it.”

Available for only $3.99, FlightView Elite provides Android users with the high level of functionality and affordability they have come to expect. FlightView’s first Android app – available for free with advertisements or for $.99 without ads – quickly became the most popular, user-intuitive and reliable flight tracking app on the Android market.

Easing Holiday Travel One App at a Time

Regardless of which smartphone you use, FlightView offers high-performance travel apps to meet all of your holiday travel needs. Along with FlightView Elite for the Android, FlightView offers flight-tracking apps for the Blackberry, Palm and the iPhone.

FlightView’s iPhone app – the first flight tracking app to offer customized calendar integration on the iPhone – will be enhanced with an Elite version in the coming days.
