Dewberry to Guide Pipeline Open Data Standards Association Through New Data Standards Deployment

December 15, 2015 By GISuser

GIS professionals to provide strategic consultation services to leading industry association and stakeholders

Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, has been selected by the Pipeline Open Data Standards (PODS) Association to provide strategic consultation services for the deployment of new data standards for its Pipeline Data Model, data model implementation, and various member advocacy affairs. Dewberry will help the association navigate the governance, procedural, and organizational challenges associated with deploying the standards, known as Next Generation.

The PODS Association’s Pipeline Data Model enables oil and gas pipeline operators to store and manage asset information in a single database that can be visualized in geospatially enabled platforms. The model houses attribute, construction, inspection, integrity management, regulatory, and operational data.

When faced with the roll out of Next Generation data standards, the association was challenged to meet new regulatory reporting requirements, member organizations’ future requirements, and various industry standards. Dewberry will provide advisory consulting and facilitation services to help the PODS Association better understand the challenges associated with Next Generation rollout. Dewberry will also help validate or refresh the association’s strategic goals and objectives before guiding it through the evaluation and selection of an implementation approach.

Dewberry has a strong presence in the GIS industry. With more than 200 GIS professionals across the nation providing services at the federal, state, local, and private levels, the firm employs many of the most recognized and respected GIS industry experts and thought leaders.
