August 21, 2014 By Editor

August 21, 2014, Alexandria, VA – Ms. Jodi Hanson Bond, Vice President for the Americas at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, will provide the keynote address “Doing Business Outside the United States: Positive Trends but Serious Challenges?” on Friday, September 26 during the second day of the Geospatial & Engineering International Conference to be held September 25-26, 2014 at the Westin Alexandria hotel.

Ms. Hanson Bond manages teams dedicated to policy and

advocacy services for the Chamber’s clients with business interests in the Americas. Her portfolio includes management of the Brazil-U.S. Business Council, the U.S. Mexico-Leadership Initiative, and the Association of Chambers of Commerce in Latin America (ACCLA) initiatives. She has testified before the U.S. Congress explaining the strategic importance of firms exporting goods and services within this hemisphere.

“We are excited to hear Ms. Hanson Bond’s perspective on how firms can understand the market opportunities, increase their exporting abilities, and mitigate the challenges associated with international projects,” said Brian Raber, Program Chair (Merrick & Company, Greenwood Village, CO).

The conference will provide private sector companies that are new or exploring markets outside the United States with information on how to work globally with experienced firms and deal with strategic planning, laws, culture, regulations, safety and insurance. Experienced firms working overseas will benefit from discussions with exporting experts and potential clients.

Conference attendees are eligible for a $50 discount in addition to the early registration fee by making a hotel reservation at the Westin Alexandria (Alexandria, VA). Once an attendee has reserved a room, contact MAPPS to receive a special promotional code to receive the $50 discount. This offer will expire on September 4.
