Factors to be Considered in Planning Factory Building

Introduction

A factory building is a large structure that is used for the manufacturing process. A factory building may be used for processing raw materials or for assembling finished goods; it may also serve as storage for goods ready for shipment. The size and construction of a factory building depend on the type of manufacturing done there and the types of machines and equipment needed to produce goods efficiently. Below are some factors to be considered while planning your factory-building projects:

Location

The location of your factory is a crucial consideration. You should be looking for a place that has:

  • Accessibility. The location should be easily accessible by road and rail, as well as close to ports and airports if you need them.
  • Proximity to raw materials and utilities, such as water and electricity supply lines, will reduce costs since they don’t have to be transported very far from where they’re produced or collected (e.g., dams).
  • Proximity to markets where you can sell your products–ideally within reach of large cities where there’s high demand for what your factory produces!
  • Proximity to labor: Having workers living nearby will make it easier for them to get back home if something comes up at home during working hours (like an emergency), so consider whether there are any towns nearby with good schools/universities etcetera before deciding where exactly on this list should go down first.

Land Acquisition

Land acquisition and subdividing land are two important steps in the planning process. Land acquisition is a complex process that can take up to six months, so it’s best done by professionals. Subdividing land is required for factory buildings as they need to be separated into different sections for different purposes (for example, manufacturing and warehousing).

Production volume

Production volume is an important factor to be considered while planning factory building. It affects the size of the building and its layout, the choice of equipment and raw materials, and the people. The production volume also determines whether you should go for a big or small factory unit.

The number of products manufactured in a year should be taken into account before deciding on any manufacturing facility. For example, if you plan to manufacture 100 widgets per month, you might need just one production line, whereas if you plan to manufacture 10,000 widgets per year, it’s better for you to have multiple production lines where each can produce 5000 units per month.

Plant Layout

To ensure that your factory building is built in the most efficient way possible, it is important to consider the following factors:

  • The layout of the factory building should be planned with consideration for its purpose. For example, if you are planning on using this space for manufacturing purposes and will be using machines such as lathes and milling machines, then you may want to have them located close together so that operators can easily access them.
  • The layout should also take into account any other equipment used in conjunction with these machines (for example, tooling). This will ensure that all parts can work together seamlessly and efficiently without any unnecessary delays or downtime due to miscommunication between workers about where certain materials or tools are located within their workspace.
  • Good factory builders will take these factors into account when designing their layouts so as not only to save time but also to improve overall productivity levels across all departments within an organization.

Product mix

The product mix is the number of products manufactured in a factory. It can be classified as a single product, multiple products, or a mix of both. The number of production lines required for each product will depend on its mix.

Product Mix = Number Of Products Manufactured In A Factory

Single Product – If you are manufacturing just one type of product then it would be better if you consider using an automatic machine rather than manual labor so that there is less chance for error and wastage as well as improved productivity levels since there will be fewer steps involved in producing your product which means less time spent working on each unit produced as well as lower labor costs overall since this type of machinery doesn’t require any human intervention while they’re operating.

Service Facilities

Service facilities like these pressure gauges in New Zealand are important in any factory building. They include a canteen, recreation room, medical facility, and first aid. The size of these service facilities depends on the number of workers who will use them. The cost of these service facilities depends on whether you hire an architect or planner to design them for you.

The main purpose of these service facilities is to provide convenient access to food, drink, and rest areas for employees working long hours in your factory building.

Equipment

You must also consider the equipment required for the production process like this 3-side seal sachet. The equipment needed to support the production and manufacturing processes, as well as assembly, is also an important factor to consider in the planning of a factory building.

Equipment used for inspection, testing, and quality control should be considered as well.

Skilled or unskilled operators employed

Several factors can determine the efficiency of a factory building. One such factor is the skill level of the operators employed at the factory. If you have skilled operators, it will be easier to run your business efficiently and effectively because they have more experience working with machinery and equipment. This means they will take less time to learn new processes, making them more productive than unskilled workers, who may need more training before being able to operate machinery properly.

The same goes for maintenance: if your equipment requires regular maintenance checks by professionals, then having skilled workers on staff will save time and money as well as prevent accidents from happening due to improper use of tools/equipment or lack thereof

Conclusion

In conclusion, we can say that a factory building is one of the most important assets of any company. The importance of this asset depends on various factors, such as the production process, the volume of production, etc. Therefore, it is necessary to consider these factors before planning a factory building for your company so that it can meet all your requirements and serve its purpose perfectly well.
