Spectra Geospatial Introduces Next Generation of Field Solutions for Survey Professionals

June 8, 2021 By Editor

Westminster, Colo., June 8, 2021—Spectra Geospatial introduced today the Spectra®  Geospatial Origin software and the new Ranger 5 Data Collector, a powerful field software and hardware combination designed to equip surveying professionals with innovative and intuitive field tools needed to increase productivity and efficiency.

Spectra Geospatial Origin field software is the new software professional surveyors need for expediency in handling a full range of projects including topographic survey, control, staking and roading. This is an intuitive and reliable solution with a full range of features, including one-tap, easy-to-use feature coding, powerful COGO computing, a map layer manager, and graphical staking of points, lines, arcs, and polylines from maps.

”Spectra Geospatial Origin is the next generation in field productivity, efficiency and reliability,” said Olivier Casabianca, vice president Spectra Geospatial. “Over the years professionals have relied on Spectra Geospatial to get the job done and we are excited to announce this next generation for today and tomorrow.” Spectra Geospatial Origin supports the Android and Windows 10 operating systems with connections to GNSS, robotic and mechanical instruments, and supports integrated surveying workflows.

The fifth generation Spectra Geospatial Ranger 5 has a heritage that traces back to one of the first field computers for land surveyors. From the beginning, the Ranger has been designed to get jobs done consistently, efficiently––and right.

“The Ranger 5 is a hard working, Android-based survey field data collector, built to handle the diverse range of projects our customers work on everyday. We are confident that the Ranger 5’s quality and durability is an ideal solution for our customer’s data collection needs,” said Casabianca. The Ranger 5’s five-inch screen and full alphanumeric backlit keyboard enable surveyors to work quickly and efficiently, even while wearing gloves. Its lightweight and rugged construction with exceptional battery life makes the data collector reliable and easy to use, even in tough field conditions. The Ranger 5 also supports the Spectra Geospatial EMPOWER Module system, for use with the EM11X family (RFID/Barcode) and EM120 (Long Range Radio).

Combining the Android-based Spectra Geospatial Ranger 5 and Spectra Geospatial Origin field software creates a powerful next generation of field solutions for professional surveyors. Together, the Ranger 5 and Origin can tackle the full range of customer projects quickly and efficiently.

Availability

Origin software and the Ranger 5 Data collector are expected to be available in the second quarter of 2021 through the Spectra Geospatial global dealer network. For more information visit:  www.spectrageospatial.com.
