Des Plaines, IL (July 5, 2017) URISA has announced several activities coinciding with Esri’s International User Conference (#EsriUC) in San Diego next week, July 10-14, 2017. URISA will occupy booth #215 in the exhibit hall. Stop by to learn about our many upcoming professional educational programs, advocacy activities, and opportunities to connect with GIS professionals at all stages of their careers.
While you’re visiting, talk with our exhibit hall neighbor, the GIS Certification Institute, in booth #213. Learn about the upcoming exam schedule and steps to not only become a GISP but also how to maintain the certification.
URISA chapters have scheduled meet-ups during the conference. On Monday evening, the California and Texas Chapters have events planned. Another friend of URISA, Women in GIS, has a meet-up planned on Wednesday night.
As usual, URISA’s GISCorps has a packed schedule of outreach and presentations. Interested individuals are invited to learn more about this program which coordinates short term, volunteer based GIS services to underprivileged communities around the world. This year’s activities include:
- Sustainable World Showcase: This year, the URISA GISCorps display will be located within the Sustainable World Showcase in the exhibit hall. Members of the GISCorps Core Committee and volunteers will be at the display during exhibit hall hours to discuss recent missions and how to get involved.
- Annual Presentation/Meeting on Wednesday, July 12, 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm in Room 28C. Members of the URISA GISCorps Core Committee and several volunteers will be presenting.
