Early in 2014 in Vancouver, BC, Canada the OpenData summit took place – an event for stakeholders, individuals, government, and businesses that are interested in OpenData and OpenData related matters. During the event the organizers conducted a survey of attendees to determine what are the top opendata sets that people want. The following results were made available via datalibre and share the Top 10 most wanted datasets:
- Rezoning permit applications
- Land use changes
- Financial data (revenue, expenses, liabilities, equity, etc..)
- Locations of things (fire hydrants, drinking water fountains, public toilets, bike parking, …)
- Transit data
- Development permit applications
- Crime information
- Road construction (511 data)
- Political financing
- Real time traffic flow data and daily road usage patterns
