NRCan announces the release of 237 new, updated or re-released Canadian Topographic Maps accessible via GeoGratis.
This release includes new maps covering regions of Canada’s North previously unmapped at 1:50 000 scale, as well as updated maps for areas in Ontario, Manitoba, and the Atlantic Provinces.
With this release, the number of Canadian Topographic Maps released as part of the CanTopo collection stands at 1139. The accomplishment of over 1000 new and updated topographic maps published since June 2009 was made possible through the ‘Map Generator’ system, which has increased the production of Canada’s next-generation topographic maps from one map every two days to as many as four maps per day. The increased capability supports priority mapping initiatives at NRCan, including the completion of the topographic mapping of Canada’s North at 1:50 000 scale.

Paper copies of all Canadian Topographic Maps are also available through Regional Distributors of the Canada Map Office, and through Certified Map Printers who ensure local, high quality, on-demand plotting of topographic maps.
