Ever wonder to yourself, “Where on Earth?” Enter The Functional and Beautiful MapWheel

August 11, 2015 By GISuser

Ever wonder to yourself, “Where on Earth?” Enter The Functional and Beautiful MapWheel — Simply put, according to the creators, A MapWheel is a new, functional and attractive piece of home decor intended to trigger fond memories, provoke conversations and celebrate locations that have significance to you. Indeed they are creative and I have no doubt that these will definitely be a conversation starter!

MapWheel

Here’s the idea, designed by you (select all the places in the World that are important or significant to you, and created by the team in Sydney, the MapWheel is a beautifully crafted and personalised toposcope to celebrate important people and places in your world. Available for a very reasonable Kickstarter price, the MapWheel options are numerous, varying in size and appearance, all of them unique and stunning – you can even get one made out of wood!

Features:

  • anodised aluminium MapWheels
  • recessed profile and the brilliant white marking set
  • vivid colors
  • reverse side of MapWheel has 5 small self-adhesive silicone rubber feet
  • packed in a soft cotton draw-string bag
  • lifetime guarantee on a MapWheel being a conversation starter

We first looked at the MapWheel project a few months back, prior to project launch, and since that time the Kickstarter campaign has kicked off – you better be quick though! You may be familiar with popular GeoGeek, Peter Batty. Peter does his fair share of travelling the World and no surprise, Peter has custom ordered his own MapWheel. Check out Peter’s story of how he selected the design of his MapWheel
