June 27, 2016 By Editor

SAN DIEGO, CA – JUNE 27, 2016 – Voyager Search, the only install and go Solr/Lucene search engine, announced today it has released version 1.9.8 of its award-winning search software.

In the new version, Voyager makes it easier to configure content in Navigo, its modern web app; extends its spatial content search; and improves the usability of its Navigo processing tools. Managing content in Navigo can now be done through the new personalized ‘My Voyager’ customization page, which allows customers to share saved searches and update display configurations through a drag and drop interface. Adding these new features and upgrades offers Voyager customers unprecedented control over how they both access and view their data, allowing for a more streamlined, efficient search experience.

The new My Voyager feature offers several new capabilities:

  1. With Saved Search, users are able to organize their content into collections, making it easier to find and share items without being inundated with the entire Voyager catalog.
  2. Users can also create, update and share their Saved Searches.
  3. Reusable Display Templatesenable users to configure the look and feel of their search results and detail pages.

Voyager Search provides Fortune 500 businesses, federal agencies and multinational organizations with search, application customization, and data management solutions that offer the efficiency, simplicity, and advanced security features that enterprises require. Since its inception, the company has remained focused on making the Solr/Lucene technology accessible outside of the developer community. Additional updates to 1.9.8, included below, continue on the company’s endeavor to make Solr/Lucene adoption even easier:

  • Processing task extension improvements. A new shopping cart experience that allows users to easily download data and run processes on selected search results.
  • More flexible spatial search. An improved  spatial search interface now includes the ability to draw and buffer points, lines and polygons.
  • Updated administrative controls. Deeper control makes configuration and tuning a snap.

“With Voyager 1.9.8, we’ve made more than 150 updates in an effort to give our users and administrators a more robust search tool that brings deeper control over how they view their data,” said Brian Goldin, CEO of Voyager Search. “By adding the increase in flexibility of our spatial search capabilities and a redesign of our Navigo workflow, we’re enabling our customers to use Voyager to enhance efficiency and streamline process improvement.”
