DisasterLAN (DLAN) Version 9.3 continues to blaze a path for the mobile incident management worker.  Expanding upon DLAN’s suite of mobility tools, DLAN users can now easily add and edit tickets from any type of device. Version 9.3 also includes several GIS enhancements including reusable map reports, improved resource and people tracking, and support for Feature Services from ArcGIS Server and ArcGIS Online.

Like DLAN’s status board tools, the ticket screen now automatically adjusts to the resolution, touch capabilities, and orientation (landscape / portrait) of the user’s phone, tablet, or computer.  While DLAN engineers were making this mobile facelift, they also took the time to simplify data entry on numerous fields including switching to single line addresses for contacts, improving log entry, revamping routing selection, and simplifying contact data entry.  The combination of a simpler ticket with a page that responds to the capabilities of any device, gives users unparalleled mobile data entry for requests, offers, or reports in their events and incidents.

Tim Masterson, DLAN Product Manager, explains “With our new mobile ticketing tools, DLAN 9.3 becomes the new benchmark for mobile incident management. Requests and Reports from the field have never been easier.”

Powerful mapping is a key requirement of the mobile worker and DLAN 9.3 has added a number of features to enhance this experience.  One key advancement is the ability to create map reports that can be reused in landing pages, dashboards, and status boards throughout the system.  These map reports allow admins to save a base map, layers, zoom level, location, and other GIS settings as a reusable map that other users can leverage.

BCG also worked with AVL (Automatic Vehicle Location) partner, Gentrifi, to offer improved support for tracking tagged resources and people. DLAN GIS/AVL tools now allow users to easily visualize location bread crumb trails, battery life status, and other device information.

Additionally, DLAN GIS tools now support Feature Services from ArcGIS Server and ArcGIS Online allowing users to take advantage of these powerful GIS datasets.  Since DLAN GIS tools already automatically configure to mobile screens, these three new enhancements allows admins to create maps that can specifically target the needs of mobile users as they track resources and incidents in the field.

In line with BCG’s commitment to setting the standard for mobile incident management, DLAN 9.3 offers numerous improvements to support the latest mobile operating systems including iOS8, Android Lollipop, and Windows 8.1. As the Emergency Management industry shifts towards mobile centric operations, BCG engineers will continue to perfect DLAN’s mobile capabilities across all devices.

DLAN is a web-based incident management system designed for use in emergency operations centers to manage both planned events and disasters using ICS and NIMS standards.

BCG is a veteran owned privately held US Small Business incorporated in New York State in 1982.
