Trimble Launches New AllSport GPS Mobile Apps for Google Android Phones

Reach your fitness goals faster with AllSport GPS FREE. Track workouts–runs, walks, bike rides and other sports–on a map.

Fitness Enthusiasts Help Design New Versions of Popular Fitness App

SUNNYVALE, Calif., April 7, 2011 — Trimble (NASDAQ: TRMB) released new versions of AllSport GPS™, its popular fitness apps for smartphones running Google Android™. The new Android apps—AllSport GPS Free and AllSport GPS Pro—feature an exciting new design to track workouts, collect more than 20 fitness stats and calculate calories burned to help people reach their fitness goals. In addition, consumers can see real-time weather forecasts, chart their workouts over time, and view street and park maps. The new AllSport GPS Pro app also allows consumers to capture photos and video and create custom training programs.

AllSport GPS uses the built-in GPS on Android-compatible phones to track 14 outdoor fitness activities, including running, cycling, skiing and walking.

The new Android apps are the result of collaboration between athletes, long-time users of the original app, and beta testers. More than 350 people tested the new design and features over three months. Testers recorded 1,800 activities over 17,000 miles and burned nearly nine million calories.

"When Trimble set out to create the next generation of our Android app, we first paired active athletes with our Trimble Outdoors Android engineers. Together, they collaborated on design and features. Next, we invited hundreds of people to test-drive the app in a closed beta for three months. The result is an AllSport GPS that’s fine-tuned to the specific needs of outdoor fitness fans and the fastest growing smartphone market in the U.S.," said Rich Rudow, general manager for Trimble Outdoors.

Both apps are available in the Android Market:
