Etisalat to provide telecommunications support to enhance system services
MADISON HEIGHTS, Michigan – March 12, 2012 – Guidepoint Systems announced (through its exclusive National Sales Company in the Middle East and North Africa) GAPCorp to manage the sale and distribution of Guidepoint SVL (Stolen Vehicle Location) and fleet management systems in the Middle East.
GAPCorp is a leading sales, marketing and third-party administrator operating in the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council), Middle East, North Africa, Asia, Europe and USA. The company provides extended warranty programs to the finance arms of Jaguar, General Motors, BMW, Mercedes, Ford, Hyundai, Volkswagen and other automakers, as well as banks and organizations that offer GAP (Guaranteed Auto Protection) insurance. In addition, GAPCorp offers F&I services to dealerships, designed to enhance profitability with cost-effective products and services. Guidepoint’s GPS-based vehicle location systems will be sold and installed through this channel to buyers of new and pre-owned vehicles.
“We are very excited to have secured this agreement with GAPCorp,” said Guidepoint Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder Thomas Gafford. “GAPCorp is recognized worldwide for its leadership and relationship with OEMs and in the extended warranty space, and the company’s stellar reputation has enabled its growth both vertically and horizontally to offer more products and services to an ever-widening market. Guidepoint and GAPCORP have also partnered with Etisalat, the premier telecommunications provider in the United Arab Emirates, to provide data support. Etisalat’s platform enables communication between the Guidepoint GPS device and the local 24-hour operations center, which will be staffed and managed by GAPCorp.
The Guidepoint GPS device enhances both vehicle protection and driver safety with a suite of services centered on its satellite-based location technology. Features include vehicle location and monitoring by computer or smartphone, and the ability to set parameters for alerts based on vehicle location and movement. In addition, the live local call center, available 24 hours a day, provides enhanced services like emergency dispatch, driving directions and more.
“We look forward to the benefits of this partnership with Guidepoint,” said Munro Deysel, General Manager of Business Development at GAPCorp. “In this age when technology is constantly evolving, we need to be able to offer a compatible, upgradeable vehicle protection and safety solution to our customers.
