October 30, 2019 By GISuser

Available now, customers can use Soar+ as the online solution for hosting, viewing and sharing of all their maps, which involves use of Soar’s powerful tiling engine — breaking down images into smaller, structured tiles for faster, on-demand viewing. Thus, solving an issue that has long existed when attempting to share maps and images that are traditionally very large in size.

“The tiling engine is a powerful piece of technology,” said Soar’s CTO Chris Lowe whilst explaining the engineering behind Soar+. “It allows gigantic mapping files to be streamed instantly over the internet similar to how you can stream and skip videos online without needing to download the entire movie.”

Soar CEO Amir Farhand was energetic whilst speaking with attendees at UAV Expo. “When you want to host and share files you think Dropbox. With videos, you think of YouTube. Likewise, when you want to host and share maps & imagery you can now think Soar+”

Current features of the Soar+ product include:

  • No preprocessing, tools or special skills required
  • On the fly imagery re-projection and tiling
  • Support for GeoTIFF, JP2 and ECW formats
  • Custom Soar domain with your name and logo
  • On-demand support available
  • No hidden costs, plans to suit your needs.

Users can sign up for a FREE 14 day trial before selecting one of two plans — depending on their chosen amount of storage and map-hits (used to determine how much bandwidth is being generated) — the BASIC plan at US$19.99 / month includes 20Gb storage and 20,000 map-hits with 2 user logins; whilst the PRO plan at US$49.99 / month includes 100Gb storage and 30,000 map-hits with up to 30 user logins.

Additionally, enterprise customers can receive a custom-tailored solution by speaking with any of Soar’s Geospatial Experts directly.
