In the workplace, it is particularly important to rise above your stress and set a good example for your employees. This will help you to create a positive work environment. 

The better the work environment the happier your employees will be. This will improve staff retention rates and encourage people to apply for jobs with you. In short, you’ll be able to command the best employees on the market.  It doesn’t matter if you’re going through a reputable agency for recruitment Sydney or are trying to find the people by yourself, you’ll find the best want to work with you.

But, to achieve this you’re going to need to learn how to de-stress. Here are some top tips:

Create An Interview Template

When you need to interview people it is better to have a template which you work through. This can alleviate your stress as you know where the meeting is going and you’ll feel in control.

It will also ensure that all the relevant questions are answered, allowing you to assess a new employee properly.

Have An Open Door

As mentioned, part of attracting the best employees is for them to know that you have a quality work environment. The simplest way to do this is o have an open door policy and encourage existing employees to make suggestions or talk to you about issues.

The idea is that people will feel like they matter. When people are valued they are happier at work and others in the industry will hear that your company is a good one to work for 

Of equal importance is the fact that some of the ideas will genuinely be worth implementing. IT will reduce the stress on you to come up with new ideas and innovations.

Reward & Praise

Reward your employees for their good ideas and make sure the rest of the team know about it. You’ll be surprised at how much this does for staff morale. The happier the staff is the less stressed you are likely to be.

Breath & Meditate

No matter how good you make the environment at work you’ll have times when you’re stressed. This will probably be connected with your workload.

Make sure you recognize when you’re starting to feel stressed and take a step back. You can practice breath relaxation exercises to keep you calm on a stressful day. Breath slowly and, if you want to, do a little meditation. It will help you to put everything in perspective and reduce your stress levels. 

You can tell your staff to do the same and it will show that you care about them as people. Not only will you all be less stressed, but you’ll also find more people want to work with you.

With just a little effort your de-stressing can reduce the stress on your team and dramatically change the feel of the workplace. People will be queuing up to work for you.
