Wingtra and GlobalTroxler partner to supply VTOL drones in Canada

August 9, 2018 By GISuser

Calgary, 10 August 2018: Wingtra, the Swiss drone company that develops the first commercially successful VTOL (vertical take-off and landing) drone, has signed a reseller agreement with GlobalTroxler, a leading construction equipment and surveying distributor based in Canada.Wingtra and GlobalTroxler partner to supply VTOL drones in Canada
“We are excited to offer our customers a fixed wing option with VTOL (vertical take-off and landing) capabilities. The WingtraOne is a technologically advanced, high precision, PPK enabled product that will position our company, and our customers, at the leading edge of the geomatics industry in Canada,” — commented Don Wilgosh, President at GlobalTroxler.

“We believe that partnering with GlobalTroxler will have a great impact on our presence in the Canadian market, with their trusted reputation for selling the best quality surveying and construction equipment. We are excited about this expansion from Wingtra further into North America.”, stated Justus Bamert, head of Sales for the US and Canada at Wingtra.

WingtraOne takes-off and lands as a multicopter but flies in the air as a fixed wing aircraft. This technology eliminates the risk of damaging the aircraft while landing, lets the drone carry professional sensors (e.g. 40MP Sony RX1RII) and still allows mapping of large areas.

The PPK (post process kinematics) upgrade allows the WingtraOne to reach new level of accuracy. With the highest quality sensors: the Sony RX1RII and state-of-the-art PPK system, WingtraOne reaches accuracy down to 1 cm without any ground control points.
