Avenza Releases MAPublisher 9.8 for Adobe Illustrator

Toronto, ON, August 16, 2016 – Avenza Systems Inc., producers of the Avenza Maps app for mobile devices and geospatial plug-ins for Adobe Creative Cloud, including Geographic Imager® for Adobe Photoshop®, is pleased to announce the release of MAPublisher 9.8 for Adobe Illustrator. This latest update includes many new features including full compatibility with Adobe Illustrator Creative Cloud 2015.3. This release also introduces the ability to connect to a PostGIS spatial database and import data, additional options to preview and change character encoding when importing data, and the added ability to fine tune art objects to be exported.

Enhancements and new features of MAPublisher 9.8

  • Fully compatible with Adobe Illustrator Creative Cloud 2015.3 on both Windows (32-bit and 64-bit) and MacOS
  • Connect to and import data from PostGIS spatial databases
  • Maximum zoom levels are organized into categories based on map scale in Export to Web Tiles
  • Ability to preview how encoding affects data being imported before selecting the appropriate encoding for import
  • An option to only export selected art on the artboard when exporting MAP Layers
  • Various user interface and usability enhancements
