myWorld 3.1 brings flexible mobility options to enterprise geospatial applications

July 14, 2016 By Editor

Cambridge, UK – July 14th 2016 – Ubisense Group plc (AIM:UBI), a global leader in enterprise location intelligence, is today releasing myWorld 3.1 with new flexible data download and sync options plus a completely redesigned phone interface for rapid field data entry.

A situational awareness and operation support solution, myWorld integrates data from any source – complex GISs, real-time asset data, GPS location, corporate systems and external cloud-based sources – into a live, geospatial, common operating picture. myWorld already supports the ability to work offline, with a robust high performance mechanism for syncing large data volumes with devices in the field. myWorld 3.1 introduces additional flexibility for managing offline data by enabling users to select and download smaller sets of data on demand. This approach is often easier to set up and maintain as it reduces the level of IT required to manage large sync processes. It also offers additional flexibility with the ability to download data from a wide range of sources.

The user interface of myWorld 3.1’s phone application has been significantly redesigned, making it easier to use and supporting additional functionality. In particular, editing functionality is now available on phones and forms are automatically reformatted for smaller sized screens as needed. Identical offline data capabilities are provided across all supported myWorld mobile devices, including phones, tablets and laptops, running iOS, Android and Windows 7 and up.

myWorld is continually being developed to enable users to work offline in an increasingly online world. It provides the benefits of working online when possible, enabling both field and office workers to see relevant real-time information as appropriate, but then smoothly transition to offline working when necessary.

Peter Batty, CTO Geospatial Division at Ubisense, said: “myWorld 3.1 continues our innovation in providing new ways of managing offline geospatial data and seamlessly transitioning between online and offline working. The redesigned phone application is easier to use and expands the capabilities available – phones are good options for inspection and other forms-based data capture applications.”
