Golden, Colo., March 8, 2016 – Golden Software, LLC, the leading developer of affordable scientific graphics software, announces the release of Grapher 12, an accurate 2D and 3D graphing program that meets every graphing need, from simple to complex.

Introduced in 1986, Grapher is a leading competitor in graphing software. Designed for scientists, engineers, and business professionals, Grapher converts data from a variety of file formats into more than 70 fully customizable graph types. Practically every component of Grapher’s plot is customizable allowing users to quickly and easily create publication-quality graphs.

The most popular new features in Grapher 12 are three new graph types: function plot where X is a function of Y, ternary bubble plot, and horizontal box-whisker plot.  The new iteration of the software allows users to create 2D or 3D function plots in the form of X = F(Y) to create straight vertical lines or any function where the X value is the independent variable. The ternary bubble plot adds a fourth variable to the ternary plot by using bubble size or bubble color. Display statistical data with box-whisker plots either horizontally or vertically.

Grapher 12 also features new grouped bar charts. This highly requested feature allows users to group bar charts and arrange the groups either adjacent to or overlapping one another. Now different sub-groups of the main category can be clearly displayed.

Plot legend improvements are another in demand enhancement. Now users can move legend labels and titles anywhere on the page with a simple command, flip the order of the entries in a legend, display legend entries only for visible plots, and change the order of legend entries via automated script.

Additional features include enhancements to the user interface with updated icons and dialogs, new and improved import and export formats, added flexibility for date/time formats including a new date/time format builder and the automatic recognition of the Windows country/language and date/time settings, and Worksheet command enhancements including faster querying speeds and expanded copy/paste controls.

“Grapher 12 is a full-featured scientific graphing package, allowing the user to import data in many formats, create and combine a wide variety of 2- and 3-D plot types, and customize the plots in infinite detail,” stated Golden Software CEO Blakelee Mills.  “The latest version will help users create graphs that accurately tell their data’s story.”

Grapher 12 operates in a Microsoft® Windows environment with Windows XP SP2, Vista, 7, 8 (excluding RT), and 10. Grapher 12 is now available for a retail price of $489, with quantity discounts available. Upgrades from any previous version of Grapher are available for only $169. The full user’s guide can be purchased for just $25. Grapher 12 includes free maintenance updates and free technical support.
