RAN-DEE to showcase new capabilities at the 2015 Commercial UAV Expo, Las Vegas

October 5, 2015 By GISuser

SAN DIEGO, Oct. 1, 2015 — RAN-DEE/Kestrelfindme, home of the “Cow Copter,” announced today that it will head to Las Vegas to participate in the Commercial UAV Expo being held at Caesars Palace and will take place October 5-7, 2015. The Commercial UAV Expo is a conference and exhibition exclusively focused on the commercial sUAS (small Unmanned Aerial Systems) for large enterprise asset owners in North America.  The major industries at the expo includes: Surveying & Mapping; Civil Infrastructure;  Mining; Construction; Process, Power & Utilities; Precision Agriculture; Law Enforcement, Security and Search & Rescue (SAR).  RAN-DEE will be exhibiting at booth #603 and will showcase its new products and capabilities for 2015-2016.

One of the new products RAN-DEE is excited to get out is a device that scans video images being transmitted through radio frequency. This would enable the user of the device to identify and record the images being captured via small unmanned aerial vehicles (sUAVs). Privacy issues and the public’s concern over the invasion of it has been a major problem regarding the popularity of hobbyist quadcopters.

RAN-DEE’s new offering will provide the ability to “Know what is watching you” by allowing the user to have real-time video feed of any video stream being transmitted through radio frequency. Ran-Dee believes this device would greatly benefit those in Law Enforcement, government agencies, security, concerned citizens, hobbyists, and those who feel their privacy is being violated.

A Law Enforcement, pictured below, and a consumer models will be made available 4th quarter 2015. You can learn about the latest products from RAN-DEE by visiting their booth #603.  A brief product preview session is from 3-3:20 pm on Monday afternoon, October 5th.

RAN-DEE will also be showing their current UAS solution to maximize the efficiency of the cowboy/farmer using the “drones for good” philosophy. This is done by utilizing integrated software and imaging cameras that make operating the “Cow Copter” efficient and safe. We use the tagging system with unique RFID tags for each herd animal and follow and locate them with our “Cow Copter,” providing real-time information to the herder to prevent loss of animals while saving time and money. Proprietary software displays and analyzes data in real time to make the correct business decisions with precise data, which is critical to the functioning of any agribusiness to succeed. Our offering is economically produced with off-the-shelf parts and 3-D printing. View the “Cow Copter” in action here: http://vimeo.com/user32147347/review/107591562/657889ef74

We have spoken to airport managers and industry leaders about projecting safety first and managing the UAV responsibly. We use a 54-point test before flying each mission, keep meticulous logs and always log flight plan data. We already use the black box on our copter to record flight data to analyze proficiency and safety concerns.

Finding, tracking, and saving livestock is our mission.
