ITTIA Announces Embedded Database Integrated with IAR Embedded Workbench

September 18, 2015 By GISuser

September 22, 2015 — Bellevue, WA — ITTIA expands support for IAR Systems’ high-performance C/C++ compiler and debugger toolchain, IAR Embedded Workbench®, in its flagship embedded database product. Benefits of this total solution includes ease-of-use for data management with comprehensive embedded development tools. ITTIA DB SQL is a compact, self-managing database software library for IAR Embedded Workbench, which supports a vast collection of microcontrollers, microprocessors, and real-time kernels. This combination offers embedded developers the opportunity to leverage enterprise data management features through a mature compiler and a debugging tools.

As manufacturers of embedded systems come under increasing pressure to achieve a high level of innovation while simultaneously reducing software development cost, footprint, and complexity, data management becomes a significant factor. ITTIA and IAR Systems provide a next-generation embedded software development platform that satisfies the development requirements for specific devices. ITTIA DB SQL is small-footprint, fast, and easy-to-use embedded database and supports IAR Embedded Workbench for development of applications with concurrency, high availability, low-cost, security, data integrity, and many other embedded data management services. ITTIA DB SQL and IAR Embedded Workbench help developers to speed up development and time-to-market with feature-rich tools for embedded software development. ITTIA DB SQL is used for embedded systems in consumer electronics, utility, medical devices, industrial automation, mobile, and many markets.

“IAR Systems’ innovation provides a great platform for compilation and debugging, and with ITTIA DB SQL it can support scalable, reliable, mature embedded database management to speed up product development,” said Sasan Montaseri, ITTIA President.

“We are excited to see a complete integration of ITTIA DB SQL in IAR Embedded Workbench,” comments Mats Ullström, Chief Operating Officer, IAR Systems. “High performance databases are crucial for efficient data management in embedded systems and by using pre-integrated solutions, our customers can simplify their development and speed up their workflows.”

The combination of ITTIA DB SQL and IAR Embedded Workbench is suitable for both bare metal and multitasking applications. Adding a multitasking kernel unlocks ITTIA DB SQL’s multi-user capabilities, including shared access, change notification, and an embedded database server. Data can be stored temporarily in RAM or persistently to flash storage media with a file system.

ITTIA DB SQL is a cross-platform database with support for various operating system environments, including Windows, Linux, µC/OS-II, µC/OS-III, Integrity, and QNX.
