CARIS welcomes Travis Hamilton onboard

CARIS™ is pleased to announce that Travis Hamilton has joined the team as the Product Manager of the newest application in the CARIS software suite, CARIS Onboard.

Travis has a bachelor’s degree in Geomatics from the University of New Brunswick and is currently completing his master’s degree. Travis has spent the last two years working in offshore survey as a data processor and operator of AUVs off the coast of Africa and other locations around the world. Travis is already familiar with the CARIS operation having recently worked under contract implementing a new Sound Velocity Correction algorithm for the HIPS and SIPS application.

“Travis’ real world AUV experience is a great fit for CARIS Onboard which is being developed with autonomous survey applications in mind” said Mike Gourley, Senior Products Manager. “He’ll be a great addition to the Fredericton team, and the timing is great with the launch of CARIS Onboard planned for September”.

CARIS Onboard is destined to be a game changer in the world of hydrographic data processing by automating the repeatable workflow steps resulting in near-real time mapping of the seafloor.
