Esri’s Data Appliance for ArcGIS Now on GSA Schedule

February 4, 2015 By GISuser

Agencies Can Gain Secure Access to Terabytes of Valuable Data behind Their Firewall

Redlands, California—February 4, 2015—Esri today announced that Data Appliance for ArcGIS is available on the General Services Administration (GSA) schedule.

Acquisitions through GSA schedules are issued using full and open competition. Prices have already been deemed fair and reasonable, and contracts are in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, reducing evaluation cycles. Purchases can be made directly from a contractor’s GSA Schedule Contract, eliminating time-consuming responses to complex RFPs and lengthy negotiations. Agencies can now take advantage of pricing discounts, avoid time-consuming purchasing justifications and paperwork, and buy a Data Appliance for ArcGIS off the GSA schedule.

For quick deployment, Data Appliance for ArcGIS connects directly to an agency’s internal network. Data Appliance for ArcGIS provides easy, secure access to ready-to-use maps such as imagery, street maps, topographic maps, shaded relief, and elevations. Data Appliance for ArcGIS can be used to create, publish, and share map services securely behind agency firewalls.

“Content is crucial to GIS, and the ability to provide a solution to those that have on-premises needs for security or performance concerns is fundamental for many organizations leveraging the ArcGIS platform,” states Dean Garner, Data Appliance sales manager, Esri. “We are pleased that Data Appliance for ArcGIS is on the GSA schedule to help our users obtain such a solution when needed.”

Data Appliance for ArcGIS is licensed as five different products based on geography, the level of detail, and the extent of the content: World Advanced, World Standard, World Basic, North America Advanced, and North America Standard.

Data Appliance for ArcGIS is designed to run with ArcGIS for Server software. Two product options are available:

  • Data Appliance for ArcGIS is for organizations that already have ArcGIS for Server. Agencies can purchase a preloaded network-attached storage (NAS) device with the Data Appliance for ArcGIS product of choice.
  • Data Appliance for ArcGIS for Server Bundle is for organizations that do not have ArcGIS for Server. It includes a preloaded NAS device with the Data Appliance for ArcGIS product of choice plus ArcGIS for Server software and Microsoft Windows Server 2012.
