Now an iOS Mobile App to plan your itinerary on the GO!

November 10, 2014 By GISuser

It’s a new experience for travelers to plan vacations comprising top attractions, nearby hotels and custom time line.

mobile trip planner

TripHobo, a custom trip planning portal, today launched the iOS version of its much awaited mobile app. The release has come right after the company scored Series A VC funding in late June this year. Available worldwide on all Apple devices, the iOS app was unveiled at the PhocusWright Conference (Travel innovation Summit) where TripHobo has been selected among top 30 travel innovations in the world.

The mobile app is an extension of Trip-Hobo’s web-app, a visual trip planner which lets you add holiday destinations and their attractions to the trip itinerary. Selected attractions can be organized manually, or streamlined automatically with a built-in optimization function. The app lets you swap between attractions and modify trip sequence, not just within a day, but also across days. The emphasis is on personalization. Hotel booking is another handy feature integrated into the app. Trips once planned can be shared on social networks and are also added to Triphobo’s existing library of itineraries as reference for future planning.

Currently supporting itineraries for more than 300 cities around the world, Triphobo’s itinerary library includes 50000+ travel plans curated by travelers, which makes the world’s largest repository of itineraries.

Praveen, CEO and co-founder at TripHobo, believes that “the app empowers users to carry their plans and edit them on the go, or plan on the fly. No vacation ever goes off as intended: the user should be able to accommodate tweaks to their itinerary.” Karthik, COO and co-founder backs this up with numbers: “More than 40% of our users access TripHobo through their mobile devices, and a good mobile experience is essential for those looking at travel beyond vacationing”.

Looking to the future, TripHobo will soon launch its Android app too. It’s further open to collaborating with selected OTAs, tour operators, hotel and destination marketing companies, and tourism boards. The idea is to offer Widgets and APIs that will increase website engagement on Triphobo and all partner websites.
