Prediction – There is going to be an explosion of tablet-based, 3D data capture devices

December 6, 2013 By Editor

The year end is near and that means bring on the predictions for 2014! Our own Gene Roe, Managing Editor of sister site, LiDARnews.com has a prediction of his own relating to the topic of the 3D Sensor. Gene predicts that there is going to be an explosion of tablet-based, 3D data capture devices coming on the market.

From Gene’s blog…

Okay, I am going to make a bold prediction for 2014. There is going to be an explosion of tablet-based, 3D data capture devices coming on the market Here’s another new one from Occipital called the Structure Sensor.

Looks like these guys have a computer vision background and have raised over a million dollars on Kickstarter. Their goal was $100k – unreal. Plus they want you to hack it.

Thanks to Arik Degani for the head up.
