China, today announced that its premium navigation application is
included as a pre-installed application on the Samsung Galaxy S4
smartphone, which was released in China on April 17. This is the latest
milestone in AutoNavi’s ongoing strategic partnership with Samsung,
following the pre-installation of the Company’s premium navigation
application on Samsung Galaxy Series last year.
In addition to providing offline navigation support, AutoNavi’s premium
navigation application includes a number of new features customized for
the Galaxy S4, including augmented reality and voice-guided
turn-by-turn navigation with lane-specific guidance, available for the
first time in China, plus push-to-talk capability for hands-free
operation. Also, a number of native Galaxy S4 applications, including S
Voice, stock photo album and address book, are integrated with
AutoNavi’s premium navigation application, allowing users to access the
premium navigation application’s content and functionality. Some native
Galaxy S4 applications that make use of map displays will automatically
utilize AutoNavi’s map API services.
