TomTom extends coverage of real time traffic products available to industry partners globally

October 17, 2011 By Editor

ITS World Congress, Orlando, FL, October 17, 2011 – TomTom extends its portfolio of real time traffic products with the addition of Australia, Canada, Luxembourg and Poland, bringing the total count to 18 countries globally.  By expanding coverage of real time traffic products, TomTom enables its customers in enterprise, government, hardware and wireless markets to deliver solutions based on the most accurate, comprehensive and up-to-date traffic information available.

“The extension of coverage of the real time traffic product portfolio demonstrates our commitment to making the best traffic service available to customers globally,” said Maarten van Gool, Managing Director of TomTom Licensing. “TomTom will continue to introduce real time traffic in additional geographies, enabling partnerships that ensure the most efficient use of the road network and ultimately helping to reduce traffic congestion globally.”

TomTom real time traffic products can act as stand-alone traffic monitoring and reporting systems or be incorporated into navigation solutions or routing tools. These products can significantly benefit a range of industries; governments and traffic planning agencies can reduce costs by eliminating the need to install or maintain fixed measurement systems and by more efficiently using the existing road network; fleet companies can save money by ensuring their vehicles spend less time in traffic and get to their destinations faster.

Real time traffic products are available to customers in 18 countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States. Additional countries will become available before the end of 2011 and into 2012.
