Demis bv proudly announces that the Demis Web Map Server 4.0 is one of the first products to be certified as OpenGIS WMS 1.1.1 compliant after passing all the compliance tests as provided by the OpenGIS Consortium Inc.

Demis WMS 4.0 is an attractive web mapping solution because it’s very fast and costs only 950 Euro for a single server. Version 4.0 now supports Macromedia Flash format bitmaps for more interactivity.

For Internet based GIS and mapping applications, Demis bv developed the Demis Web Map Server (Demis WMS) in compliance with standards and protocols defined by the OpenGIS consortium.

Demis WMS version 4.0 is the most recent release. Please visit the gallery with numerous live examples of Demis WMS applications, such as the well-known ReefBase online GIS http://reefgis.reefbase.org.

The main features of the Demis WMS 4.0 server are:
·  Supports the WMS 1.0.0 / 1.1.0 and 1.1.1 version protocol, WMS 1.1.1 certified
·  Variety of output formats, GIF, PNG, BMP, JPEG, and Macromedia Flash SWF
·  Plug-in interface, allows the programming of custom graphics on top of any map
·  Optimised for performance, outruns most competitive products
·  Support for vector based GIS layers, imported from common GIS formats
·  Support for grid based GIS layers, including interpolation, contouring, relief shading
·  Support for image based GIS layers, including ECW format images
·  Support for tiling, allowing huge datasets to be rendered efficiently
·  Comes bundled with 1:1,000,000 scale world map data compiled from various sources
