Novara Geosolutions President, Jeff Allen took to the main stage of the recent Esri Petroleum Users Conference to explain how Intrepid, his company’s pipeline information management suite is used to enable the ArcGIS Platform for pipeline companies around the world.
To open the conference in Houston, Texas, Esri CEO Jack Dangermond explained his company’s ideas and ambitions for making GIS an organisation-wide application through the uptake of the ArcGIS Platform.
ArcGIS is already a widely used software throughout the asset management industry, but the aim of the ArcGIS Platform is to ensure that everyone, in every department is able to access the benefits of using location technology via easy to use and understand web applications.
Novara Geosolutions is an Esri Gold Partner and has developed Intrepid on Esri software for the last ten years.
Now, the company is fully behind the move to an enterprise-wide solution and Jeff Allen demonstrated fit- for-purpose applications that enable pipeline designers, managers and field workers with access to critical data.
Commenting on his presentation to the oil and gas Esri users Jeff Allen said; “We are excited to continue to lead the pipeline industry in the area of enterprise adoption of these location based technologies. I can see a day when focused, simple to use, applications are the norm in our industry and expedite the adoption of geospatial technology to the entire organization. We shouldn’t all have to be GIS Professionals to have easy access to critical information needed to oversee the safe operations of these pipeline networks.“
