Does Spotify Promotion work?

May 14, 2022 By GISuser

Hi pal, what brings you to this article? Are you just starting your music career and have decided to kick off with a good promotion strategy? If so, go best friend! But maybe you are not new to the music industry at all, but lately, things have not been easy for you? No matter what’s the reason, gaining knowledge about Spotify promotion is the main step that will help to bring your music career to a new level. You want to promote your podcast, but you don’t know how. You’re running out of ideas on how to grow your podcast audience. Try Spotify’s podcast advertising service to grow your audience and get more listeners!

The thing is that very often even those who have been releasing their music for a long time forget about the music promotion or don’t understand how important it is. While usually, this is the thing that stops them from gaining their audience. It probably sounds too easy, doesn’t it? I am sure what you are thinking now is “how can just one simple tool make me famous?” And you are right. There’s no magic, and we both know that in music as in any other industry there is no simple way to success. Many people dream of their hobby being their job, but making a living from music is not that easy. Have you ever thought that maybe working in the office from 8 am till 4 pm would be easier? I have. We both know that in music there are no strict rules and everything is subjective, so writing a good song requires a lot of time not only technical-wise but also because it means questioning yourself all the time and trying to find the best sound. So that’s why after finally coming up with the version that you like the most and releasing it, it seems to you that the job is done. But in fact, it only starts.

Why is it so important to promote your music? Because you want to share the result of your hard work with others! You want them to hear and appreciate it, right? Or maybe you don’t need anyone’s approval and you just want to share your work with the world? In both cases, promotion is something that may help you. Why was I asking about your experience? The answer is simple: even the musicians who are not new to this industry often forget about music promotion. What’s the reason for it? Some artists don’t realize the importance of promotion and some of them are just being too confident. “What’s bad about being proud of the music you make and believing in its success?” you may ask me, and I will tell you: absolutely nothing! That’s the only way you should feel about the songs you write, but the brutal truth is that simply releasing them is not enough no matter how good they are.

To come up with a perfect promotion strategy you should first take into account your fan base. Some artists prefer to promote their songs on Facebook, Instagram, and other social media, and this strategy has its advantages but it works only for those who already have their audience. Because in that case, it’s their fans who will help them to share their music with others. But what to do if you are just at the beginning of your path and are just trying to build your fan base? Then Spotify promotion is the best solution for you. With Spotify promotion, you also make sure to reach a bigger number of listeners, but here you don’t need to rely on your fans, algorithms will do everything themselves.

Remember I was saying that promotion is the best step to level up your career? Now you know why! But don’t forget that it’s relevant not only for beginners. Promotion will give you a good boost at the beginning of your path, but if you have big plans for your career and really want to take your niche in the industry your promotion should be consistent. I mean, I am not forcing you to follow my advice, but I guess we both want to see your new track on the top 10 of Spotify next week, right?
