A Guide on the Quickest Way to Source Aerospace Tenders

September 1, 2020 By GISuser

For those looking for aerospace procurement opportunities and tenders, they should know that the marketplace not only comprises of only military goods but also suppliers across different areas such as aerospace.

In the UK, the aerospace sector has seen strong growth in the last few years and this trend is expected to continue in the coming years. As a result, opportunities in the Aerospace industry have grown especially with the increased defence spending and growing aircraft production.

Winning Aerospace Tenders

The coming years will continue to experience the Ministry of Defence drive growth across the aerospace industry. The aerospace sector is vast, and the diversity means that there are a lot of opportunities to win aerospace tenders for both large suppliers and SMEs.

Some of the aerospace tenders you can win exist across multiple categories such as drone technology, training, ground crew, radar equipment, maintenance services, construction, and engineering. Additionally, there is also a huge requirement for parts within the industry, including smaller component parts, major assembly parts, and manufacturing parts.

Government Spending

The aerospace sector in the UK is the second-largest in the world. The aerospace turnover is approximately 35 billion pounds, claiming around 17 percent of the global market share. Besides, the aerospace sector has been well supported by the United Kingdom government. The AGP (Aerospace Growth Partnership), which is an initiative between the industry and the government will spend £4 billion from 2016 to 2026 on projects such as the £400 million R&D fund for the industry.
AGP was formed in 2010 to secure the aerospace industry until 2030 and beyond. Such spending will provide a lot of opportunities to both large suppliers and SMEs to supply the equipment and materials needed to help secure the future of aerospace.

The AGP will make sure the UK’s aerospace sector remains the largest in Europe and the procurement plans continue to attract innovative suppliers, small and large. Besides, this strategic alliance will address the challenges facing the aerospace sector, harnessing the innovation which is being driven by the sector.

Growing marketplace

The aerospace marketplace has seen a surge in growth for UK suppliers of all sizes. The industry offers over 120,000 highly skilled jobs in areas largely located outside the South East and London. The Department for Transport (DfT) and the Department for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) have worked together on the Aerospace deal which creates a successful and long-established partnership between the government and aerospace industry. This Aerospace Sector deal seeks to benefit the whole UK aerospace community and businesses both small and large.
