Help Atanas and the Eni Entchev’s Legal Fund

December 15, 2017 By GISuser

Many of us are very familiar with Atanas Entchev. We may not know him personally, however, if you’re online and active in the GIS, particularly the open source GIS community, they you’ve likely conenctedwith Atanas at some time. Perhaps you’re a fan of Geohipster.com , a popular  online resource devoted to the higGeoTech sccene and all those who contribute to it.  By now you may have read about the immigration struggles that Atanas has faced over the years. Sadly, recently his family has been thrown a curveball by ICE and the news shook up his social network to say the least. Here’s the story and how you can help.

Eni Entchev's Legal Fund

Details of the recent issues can be found at: Asbury Park Press: “New Brunswick man whose family fled Bulgaria deported”

From the GoFundMe Page:

Eni Entchev came to the US legally at the age of two. 25 years later, at the age of 27, he was deported to Bulgaria — a country he doesn’t remember, and whose language he doesn’t speak. All his family and friends live in the US — fiancee, mother, father, sister. The US is the only home Eni knows.

We need help to bring Eni back and reunite him with his family. We need all the support we can get to cover his legal expenses, as well as his living expenses while overseas.
