USGIF Announces Three New Board Members

August 7, 2017 By GISuser

Kate Dargan, William Pilotte, and Dr. Lisa Porter join the Foundation’s Board of Directors

Herndon, Virginia (August 7, 2017)—The United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) is excited to announce three additions to its Board of Directors: Kate Dargan, William Pilotte, and Dr. Lisa Porter. Both Dargan and Porter began their three-year terms in June and attended their first Board meeting July 19. Pilotte was this month appointed to the board, and as a young professional will serve a two-year term.

Dargan is co-founder and chief strategy officer for Intterra Group, helping to bring innovative geospatial and remote sensing solutions to first responders. Prior to founding Intterra, Dargan was the first woman to become State Fire Marshal for California. She has 30 years of firefighting experience.

Pilotte is the director of business strategy at ISPA Technology and is responsible for the development, implementation, and execution of corporate growth initiatives across all ISPA divisions. Prior to this, Pilotte supported growth operations for Wiser Company.

Porter is executive vice president of In-Q-Tel and director of IQT Labs. Prior to joining In-Q-Tel, Porter was president of Teledyne Scientific & Imaging. She was also previously the first director of the Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity.

“The ever-expanding field of use for GEOINT information and products is an exciting opportunity the Foundation embraces as we build and extend tradecraft to address mission challenges,” said the Honorable Jeffrey K. Harris, USGIF Chairman. “The addition of new, specialized leadership expertise to the USGIF Board will extend our insights to provide fresh, important perspectives. Dr. Lisa Porter’s technical and scientific expertise, combined with her intimate knowledge of commercial and defense technologies, make her a wonderful addition to the Board. Kate Dargan is a proven change agent in the public safety arena and has demonstrated her expertise across local, state, and national organizations. Improved collaboration between first responders and the GEOINT Community will extend the ability for remote sensing and geospatial technologies to improve public safety outcomes.”
