Application of Hadoop Solutions as a Part of Big Data Analytics Will Drive the Global Hadoop Market Through 2020

May 23, 2016 By GISuser

LONDON–Technavio analysts forecast the global Hadoop market to grow at a CAGR of more than 59% during the forecast period, according to their latest report.

Global Hadoop market to grow at a CAGR of more than 59% during the period 2016-2020.

The research study covers the present scenario and growth prospects of the global Hadoop market for 2016-2020. To calculate the market size, the report considers revenue generated from the sales of Hadoop solutions with functionalities such as MapReduce, integrated solutions, and services, which include consultation, training, and maintenance.

Technavio ICT analysts highlight the following three factors that are contributing to the growth of the global Hadoop market:

  • Big data plays a pivotal role in advent of Hadoop
  • Hadoop ensures optimal use of resources
  • Hadoop solution provides better clarity on time management

Big data plays a pivotal role in the advent of Hadoop

Enterprise data are generated from various sources such as enterprise applications, web-based searches, social networks, and cloud-based applications. It is practically impossible for large organizations to analyze large volumes of data manually on a daily basis. With a huge volume of data at hand, organizations are increasingly looking to make use of raw data and transform them into useful information that would help in their decision-making process.

Organizations are focusing on installing data management solutions such as Hadoop as a part of big data analytics. “Cloud-based Hadoop solutions offer easy big data management and analytics in a cost-effective manner. HDaaS or Hadoop as a service vendors provide the hardware, software, and services required for the functioning of the Hadoop platform at low subscription fees,” says Amrita Choudhury, a lead analyst at Technavio for enterprise application research.

Hadoop ensures optimal use of resources

Organizations offer Hadoop-based data management on a pay-per-use model via the cloud, preventing wastage of infrastructure and ensuring optimized use of storage space and server. With on-premises software, enterprises often pay for resources that they may never or rarely use. HDaaS solutions enable organizations to pay only for what is necessary and what they use. This helps enterprises track down the resources and ascertain the cost involved in managing the resources. It also helps decrease the levels and work of a project by using only the necessary resources.

CDH delivers scalable storage and distributed computing, which are the core elements of Hadoop. It also provides additional components such as a user interface, enterprise capabilities such as security, and integration with a range of hardware and software solutions.

Hadoop solution provides better clarity on time management

Managing an on-premises Hadoop software platform is a time-consuming process. Processing queries on the Hadoop platform involves a lot of time and effort. Furthermore, accessing detailed information from the Hadoop platform is a complex process, and technical experts sometimes have to perform additional R&D for processing Hadoop clusters. On the other hand, cloud-based Hadoop solutions offer flexible infrastructure management services to speed up the process of big data management. They allow organizations to have trouble-free big data implementation. The data are stored in the cloud, and growth in an enterprise’s big data does not affect the processing speed and efficiency offered by HDaaS solutions.

“Altiscale’s cloud-based Hadoop solution provides scalability and better value for time. It also helps organize and enrich data stored both on-premises and in the cloud, so that customers can accelerate time-to-production and deployment of a database,” says Amrita.
