Oceasoft joins LoRa Alliance

April 21, 2016 By GISuser

OCEASOFT JOINS THE LORA ALLIANCE AND LAUNCHES ITS FIRST SENSORS COMPATIBLE WITH THE LORAWAN™ WIRELESS PROTOCOL

Montpellier, France, April 19, 2016 – Oceasoft (Alternext – FR0012407096 – ALOCA), designer and developer of smart connected sensors for the industry, announces that it has joined the LoRa Alliance and is releasing a line of wireless temperature and humidity sensors compatible with the LoRaWan protocol.

Founded in March 2015, the LoRa Alliance seeks to standardize long-range, low-power wireless networks, referred to as LPWAN (Low-Power Wide-Area Networks), using its LoRaWan technology to provide connectivity for connected objects. This non-profit organization comprises over one hundred members, including HP, Cisco, IBM, Sagemcom, Semtech, Bouygues Telecom, Swisscom, and many more. More information onwww.lora-alliance.org.

At the same time, OCEASOFT is announcing the launch of its Cobalt L3 product line of wireless temperature and humidity sensors compatible with the LoRaWan network, which enables customers to install long-range sensor networks in areas not covered by carriers such as SigFox®, OCEASOFT’s partner since 2014. OCEASOFT will leverage its new LoRa range to provide compatibility with the market’s long-range, low-power wireless networks (LPWAN), notably on future networks by telecom operators such as Orange and Bouygues Telecom.

Laurent Rousseau, OCEASOFT CEO, says:

“The emergence of new long-range, low-power wireless networks will enable customers to deploy our connected smart sensors faster and more easily. After associating our efforts with the SigFox® network, OCEASOFT, is also developing a line of sensors based on LoRa technology. SigFox® and LoRa are in fact quite complementary to each other, and we are pleased to be able to offer both in order to meet our customers’ differing demands.”

Right from launch, OCEASOFT is offering a line of LoRa-enabled sensor modules to measure temperature and humidity, with sensors covering extreme ranges, notably -200°C to +200°C. This new product line features smart probe technology that offers many advantages, such as high reliability, increased precision, and ease of use.

OCEASOFT will present its new temperature and humidity monitoring products at the Interphex Conference being held on April 26-28 in New York.

About OCEASOFT

OCEASOFT designs, calibrates, and commercializes smart, connected wireless sensors for monitoring physical parameters such as temperature, humidity, CO2 levels, and differential pressure for life science and agri-business industries.

The company, listed on Alternext Paris, provides a complete vertical offering, from sensors to data integration in back-end information systems, with significant expertise in three fields in particular: sensors and calibration, wireless data transmission, and software platform development.
