ASD Inc., a PANalytical company will continue its year-long webinar series this month, focusing on the application of remote sensing of Snow & Ice.
This webinar will focus on how remote sensing ground and image measurements can be used to distinguish between snow and ice based on their spectral characteristics.
speaker: Ulyana Horodyskyj, PhD, National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC)
In this webinar you will learn:
- How VNIR spectroscopy technology can be used to distinguish between snow and ice based on VNIR spectral characteristics.
- Analysis techniques looking at spectral shapes and absorptions, as well as calculating broadband albedo from spectral, to compare with other datasets (e.g., pyranometers, that measure solar radiation).
- How spectroscopy analysis can help identify snow and ice reflectance properties, including spectral radiance and light-absorbing impurities (LAI) such as black carbon/dust.
