Intergraph Government Solutions Debuts Cloud-based Geospatial Exploitation Solution

June 22, 2015 By GISuser

Featured at GEOINT 2015 Symposium, solution accelerates geospatial innovation and collaboration and reduces cost

MADISON, Ala., June 22, 2015 – Intergraph Government Solutions (IGS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Intergraph® Corporation, a Hexagon company, serving the U.S. federal market, has unveiled a comprehensive, cloud-based solution for visualizing, analyzing and processing geospatial information. The solution is being demonstrated at the GEOINT 2015 Symposium, June 22-25, in Washington, D.C.

The new solution exploits geospatial data, including imagery, terrain, features, maps and intelligence information, in a high-performing manner through a cloud-based, thin-client interface. This model improves efficiency and flexibility by accelerating innovation, reducing costs and enhancing the ability to collaborate across the enterprise.

“Future applications built on this exciting, innovative platform will significantly transform how government agencies use geospatial technology,” said Joseph Fehrenbach, president of IGS. “This will positively shape how organizations develop, deploy and share outward-facing services to their mission partners.”

The new technology offers an alternative to the more traditional and cumbersome commercial-off-the-shelf software and is compatible with emerging cloud-based infrastructures across the U.S. federal government including Department of Defense, Intelligence Community and U.S. federal civilian agencies.

Specific benefits for federal agencies include streamlined and reliable software management, quicker adoption of technological innovation, scalability, robust support for remote and mobile users, improved data integrity and security and lower maintenance and support costs.

At the core of this new solution is Hexagon Geospatial’s industry-leading ERDAS IMAGINE®, including Spatial Modeler, and GeoMedia® product lines, which provide state-of-the-art geospatial algorithms for remote sensing, image processing, photogrammetry, GIS and mapping workflows. Transformed into RESTful web services, these algorithms can be deployed on cloud platforms, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) Public Cloud, GovCloud and C2S, and now support advanced workflows previously only possible with thick, desktop-installed applications.
