GeoDecisions’ Hassaballa Achieves GISP Certification

January 30, 2015 By GISuser

(January 30, 2015/Philadelphia, Pa.) An accomplished writer with dual engineering and geographic information system (GIS) credentials, Hany Hassaballa, EIT, attained his GIS Professional (GISP®) certification. Based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Hassaballa is a senior GIS analyst with GeoDecisions, an information technology (IT) company specializing in enterprise geospatial solutions.

To become GISP certified, successful applicants demonstrate excellence in their GIS educational background, professional history, and community contributions. Responsible for spatial and non-spatial data development, acquisition, and analysis using GIS and relational database management systems, Hassaballa achieved high marks in each certification category.

As part of his GISP requirements, Hassaballa has been published in Directions Magazine as a featured author. His articles describe how GIS is used to better manage solid waste operations and to rank plot locations through geo-processing. Hassaballa also wrote a blog on how his award-winning Esri® Story Maps illustrateU.S. baseball fan coverage and demographics.

“Hany’s official certification only confirmed what we believed all along,” said Kevin Switala, GISP, vice president of federal and international sales and delivery with GeoDecisions. “He is a valued member of our industry with significant GIS and engineering experience and special skills that he brings to our U.S. and Middle East engagements.”

Hassaballa holds a bachelor of science in civil engineering for highway and airport design from the Cairo University in Egypt. He achieved a master of science in geo-information management in urban planning from the Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC) in Enschede, Netherlands.

GeoDecisions’ experienced staff of professional consultants, analysts, and developers support clients worldwide. Fundamental to the company’s award-winning approach is the integration of spatial information to empower existing systems and processes. GeoDecisions’ philosophy is based on an enterprisewide approach to the integration of diverse information technologies, data formats, and systems.

We are proud to be an Esri Gold-tier Business Partner and ISO 9001:2008 Certified.
