MCLEAN, Va., Dec. 11, 2014 — Avineon, Inc., a successful provider of information technology, geospatial, and engineering support services, today announced the hiring of Chris Friel as Business Development Manager for Utility Services and Solutions. As the newest addition to Avineon’s geospatial team, Mr. Friel will support innovation and growth for new and existing customers in the electric, gas, water, and telecommunications sectors.
Mr. Friel has over 30 years of experience working successfully with utility companies and other GIS users. He holds a Master of Science degree in geography from Western Illinois University, where he concentrated on GIS, spatial, and environmental analysis. Prior to that, he earned a bachelor’s degree in geography, earth science, conservation, and planning from Northern Michigan University.
Mr. Friel will be located in Avineon’s Saint Petersburg, Florida office. His GIS technology and systems development expertise will support expansion in utility support services throughout North America.
