Flood Modeller Suite launched at CH2M HILL’s International Flood Management Conference

November 26, 2014 By GISuser

LONDON, 20 November – Yesterday, 19 November, more than 100 industry leaders and flood risk experts attended CH2M HILL’s International Flood Management Conference in London.

The event saw the launch of the company’s Flood Modeller Suite, a fully integrated suite of software for flood modelling. The new Flood Modeller Suite, which will be formally released in early 2015, brings together updated versions of all of CH2M HILL’s existing flood software products into one complete package and includes: Flood Modeller Pro, Flood Viewer, Flood Alert and Flood Portal.

At the core of Flood Modeller Suite is the flood modelling software product – Flood Modeller Pro 4.0 – which combines all the existing industry leading functionality of CH2M HILL’s current flood modelling software, which has over 13,000 users worldwide, with new features and a completely new interface. Flood Modeller Pro includes new innovative features, more flexibility and additional productivity tools to provide more information in an easily digestible manner. As part of this, the Flood Modeller Free software will also be made available for commercial use on projects.

For user ease CH2M HILL has also integrated their existing flood visualisation tool, Flood Viewer, into the Suite. This free programme allows flood model results to be shared between organisations and individuals without the need of specialist software or connection to the internet. This can also be used alongside the Flood Alert application, a free smartphone flood warning app that provides real-time flood alert and warning information, which has been more closely tied into CH2M HILL’s new suite of software.

The final product unveiled as part of the Flood Modeller Suite was Flood Portal; a web based flood data and asset information system. The Portal is new a flexible and modular system which allows to store and share information with risk management authorities, stakeholders and project delivery partners.

Commenting on the launch of the new software, Richard Crowder, Director of the Flood Modeller Suite, said: “By bringing these tools together we can provide better integration across all of our flood related products and provide better levels of service to our clients. The new Flood Modeller Suite retains many of the key features which users have got to know, whilst introducing new innovative features, more flexibility and additional productivity tools all designed to make life easier and improve the user experience.”
