SAN FRANCISCO, California – April 13th, 2010 – A German-language version of PlacePop is now available in the iTunes app store.
PlacePop is building a platform that creates an affinity program for every place in the world. The service lets users build affinity based on the number of visits to a particular place, and then suggest to the place owner what reward is appropriate for their loyalty.
The app was launched in Germany in response to unusually high demand from German users for the service. PlacePop now works for virtually every place, in more than 2,000 cities and towns in Germany.
Localized versions of PlacePop will soon be available in several different languages, making it possible to check-in to any place in the world, in virtually any language.
To get PlacePop in German, users can simply change their iPhone language settings from English to German. The application will detect the language change and translate automatically.

About PlacePop:
PlacePop is a place-based, social networking application developed by Ooga Labs – a San Francisco-based consumer technology greenhouse. The company was founded in 2009 by Kent Lindstrom, former CEO of the social networking website Friendster.
PlacePop fills a gap in the geosocial networking market by providing a simple location-based social app for consumers, combined with a mobile, web-based affinity marketing platform for local businesses.
