Pegshot Bets Huge on Check-in Fatigue via Location Based Videos & Photos

April 14, 2010 By GISuser

Drastic expansion of the Pegshot platform connects mobile video/photo enthusiasts, inserts gaming, and further enables people to broadcast their experiences.

Boulder, Co & New York, NY – April 14, 2010 – Pegshot, the mobile application used to quickly publish videos and photos of what’s happening where you are, has announced that Version 2.2 is now available for download now in the iTunes store.

With its new iphone release (available 04/14), Pegshot continues its march as the fastest, most powerful way for anyone to share geo-tagged videos and photos from wherever they are. Users’ shots are posted to their Shot Feed on Pegshot and can also be published to Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Tumblr and Posterous. Additionally, users can tag shots to specific locations by choosing from a shortlist of local businesses/venues, events and outdoor places. Version 2.2 will include quick entry via Facebook Connect, new gaming elements, and the option to view and share location specific videos and photos in real-time.

"The introduction of gaming is a natural extension of the Pegshot platform and a large leap into the direction of our business model," says Phil Thomas Di Giulio, one of Pegshot’s co-founders. "And, with the recent introduction to Place & Event Pages on Pegshot, we’re rewarding the people that share the most content at any place by labeling them a `Hotshot.’

Hotshots and mayors both pronounce their location to their social graph, but Pegshot’s team believes that friends, family and followers appreciate actual stories about unique, local experiences more than checkins. Pegshot simply enables these stories to be told, instantly, via videos and photos."
