Munich, Germany – gobandit, a power player and innovative manufacturer of high definition action video devices, announced today that its cutting-edge, GPS-enabled camera, the GPSHD Action Cam is available for purchase. Originally introduced in February at the 2010 International Sports Business Network (ispo), the compact and feature-rich GPSHD action camera uses advanced 3-dimensional GPS technology and unique software algorithms to record every element of every adventure. The gobandit Action Cam records stunning high-definition video while simultaneously capturing critical GPS data, allowing users to skin videos and show their unique trails on Google maps as well as present performance in ways previously only seen in professional auto racing and video games. Whether launching off a snowy summit, biking insane terrain, PWC wake jumping at 50 knots, or diving out of an airplane, the GPSHD records elevation, location, route, speed and altitude, all time stamped for seamless synchronization with video using the included gobandit Studio software.
Compatible with both PC and MAC computers1, gobandit Studio’s powerful video trimming functionality produces perfect clips by combining simple slice & dice footage arrangement with a collection of performance data skins that can be effortlessly overlaid to display the action details users want to share. The ultimate final product, gobandit Studio video clips provide a real-time visual representation of the adrenaline flowing through a user’s veins with each pulse-spiking second. Once complete, gobandit Studio users can upload videos to popular social media sites such as Facebook, YouTube, Vimeo and the gobandit community (gobandit.com/community), to name a few.

Equipped with rotatable wide lens optics, the GPSHD provides high-definition, 720p (1280 x 720) 16:9 aspect ratio and 30 frame per second (FPS) video capture in MPEG4 format with the click of a button. An embedded low-power, 20-channel SiRFStarIII GPS receiver captures performance data and a high-powered, noise control microphone keeps the sound of rushing wind to a minimum while recording the soundtrack to all of the action. The gobandit GPSHD includes a 2GB SD memory card and support for higher-capacity cards, and can record hours of action packed video or capture HD photos at 2- or 5-second intervals. Capture settings, performance data, GPS signal strength and battery levels can all be accessed through the device’s status screen.

About gobandit:
At gobandit, we love action sports, we love video and we love technology. In the past, we used a GPS to measure our sports performance and a video camera to record the action. The results and the footage rocked, but it always felt like we were carrying one too many products! We wanted everything in one device; so gobandit’s founders developed the first high-definition sports action camcorder with integrated GPS – the gobandit GPSHD Action Cam. By combining performance data like speed and altitude with the highest quality video in one compact device–now we have video proof of feats such as skiing 118km/h downhill! Plus with the positional data, we can see our tracks and trails in real time on a digital map. www.gobandit.com
